For a story-filled hour with one or a few people: trivia, picked by decade. Most people remember their teens and twenties best, so use the 1950s round for anyone born before about 1940, the 1960s round for the 1940s babies, and the 1970s round for the boomers now arriving in senior living. The 50-question mix is the safe default when you don't know.
For a whole room: bingo, because the rules are already in everyone's hands. Our cards use 48-point numbers so they can be read from a lap, and the word sets turn the game into reminiscence. For someone who wants to work alone: the large-print word searches. For family, with the photo box open: the memory games, each with a gentler variant.
The one rule for all of them: no scoring, no correcting. Offer the first letter as a hint, take the story when one surfaces, and stop while the room still wants one more. Everything below marked Free is on the page and in a large-print PDF; the packs are the full versions for people who run this every week.
